Blue

Day 3: 1 word Inspiration

When I think of home,
I think of long lost summer days
Where Janie and I had laughed and played
Within Blue Bonnet fields

Memories, cast in amber hues
I see two children skipping through
The white capped waves of blue
Like two pebbles in a stream

Janie, with those summer days
Passed with winters cold embrace
Yet laughter echoes where she’s laid
In fields that once were blue

From time to time, I stop in stride
Glance over the shoulder of my life
And see there, Janie’s smiling eyes
In the Blue Bonnet fields of home
