 A Kindness recieved:

After escaping a violent and treacherous marriage at 21 with my young son on my hip, rented a small apartment and began putting a life together for us.  One morning our building caught fire and all that we had left was literally what we had slept in.  It was terribly difficult to start completely from nothing, on little pay and no child support from deadbeat ex but thankfully had friends who we could stay with here and there so although homeless, never spent a night without shelter.  I finally was able to rent another apt and the barest of staples to cook with from a thrift store, few clothes and blankets.  Although no furniture, we made pallets and made due.  A local church group stopped by one day while going door to door inviting people to visit their church, visited awhile, were warm, friendly and welcoming.  A few days later, I arrived home from work to my apt door barricaded!  There were furniture items, boxes and boxes of clothes, everything you could imagine for the kitchen, bath, toys and boxes full of groceries! There was no note nor indication of who had waited for my absence to secretly deliver the greatest act of love and kindness I have known but I will say that this display of selfless love was the catalyst of my salvation and my first home church.  A random act of kindness can forever save and change the lives of others.  Pour out kindness everywhere!
